In our continuing exploration of movies that shaped our childhood, a hat-tip to the Large Marge Sent Us podcast, we turn to the mid-80’s Disney channel staple, Flight of the Navigator (1986). While not exactly a stellar movie, this sci-fi mystery adventure is not the mortifying mess that Ryan feared it would be. And though the Exes might not agree on whether the ship looks like a sleek walnut or an unholy marriage between a cantaloupe and a bike helmet, they do concur that the Alan Silvestri soundtrack is totally cowabunga.
